Honey Island

Big beach. Ilha do mel

Just an hour by bus from Curitiba cruise boats that go to the Ilha do Mel, a paradise of the coast of Paraná. The boat ride takes about an hour and a half to the island, and you can take from Paranaguá or Pontal. On the island there are two inhabited areas, which are called Brasilia and Enchanted, and either find accommodations of everything from hotels on the beach to rooms with bunk beds and kitchens.

Salvador de Bahia. Pelourinho Quarter

Neighborhood of Pelourinho, Salvador de Bahia

The district of Pelourinho in Salvador city, is located in the historic center, and is a World Heritage Site since 1980, so stop by a couple of days it is worthwhile. Along the streets you will not stop listening to music all day and evening concerts are always on the streets, bars and terraces. There are many places for sleeping, for all prices and needs, and from here we recommend Albergue das Laranjeiras, which is around the center, with a spectacular breakfast and their workers are all-day good feeling.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas City

If there is a place in the world that can be considered the paradise of vice and gambling, this is the city of Las Vegas.
All hotels are small theatrical performances from around the world, you can travel on trains, Venetian gondolas and roller coasters that go in and out of hotels. You can enjoy the shows of Cirque du Soleil, and each casino will give away alcohol and cigarettes while you are playing... that's crazy!

Spa near by La Grave

La Grave´s spa

When you finish your work and you feel fatigue after skiing, you can get a ride from La Grave and get to the paradise in 20 minutes... Monetier Hot Springs baths. There is a huge swimming hot pool (inside and outside) filled with soothing jets everywhere, you can take a bath even if it is snowing... wonderful!

Sihanoukville Cambodian´s paradise

Sihanoukville - Cambodian´s beach

If you feel like having a bath and relax in the beach, from the capital Phnom Penh you can take a bus to the town of sihanoukville, which takes about 4 hours and costs $5 each way. You have a few beautiful beaches and is also the site of many Cambodians bath, but there are more and more hotels and hostels focused for tourism.

Where to sleep in Phnom Penh. Lazy Fish

Lake views from the Lazy Fish terrace

When you arrive to Phonm Penh, Cambodia´s capital, you can ask for the Boeng Kak lake and there you will find some hostels with their terraces over the lake. We where few days in the Lazy Fish, having rooms from 2 Euros per person and cafeteria, and great views over the lakes, sunsets are awsome. Good places to spend three days around the city.

When to travel to Dolomites

Dolomites snowy forest

The best time to do backcountry skiing in the Dolomites is from March untill the end of the season, since the risk of avalanches to climb the mythical peaks is usually quite high for the rest of the season. We went in February and we had three feet of snow, so we made the trips that were out of danger.

Looking for some huts in Ton Say

Thailand lizard

If you are looking for lodging, you better take a look inside the room, before book it. It is better those that are really isolated because otherwise you can have some visits at night... the insects!. If you hear some noises in the mornign... don´t worry, probably they are the monkeys!

Thailand´s lodgin

Juanito and Jey in Ray lei´s beach

If you are planning to go to Krabi in high season, it is better to book before, but if you go in low season, you will be able to choose between some huts right on the beach for 3€/day, huts in the forest for 2€/day and big luxurious hotel for around 200€/day!

Zanzibar´s beach massage

Women at Zanzibar´s beach

Taking a walk around Zanzibar´s beaches you will run into these kind women that will give you a massage while you are resting in the beach. They will talk to you about everything you want to know about their island... so if you need to know something, just talk to them.

Sardinia´s free campsites

Buchi Arta´s campsite

Sardinia´s island has one of the best mediterranean forest of Europe, between their sabinas of 5 meter high you can pitch your tent with the shepherd and terrain owner´s permission. You must repect the flora and fauna and enjoy earing the owl sounds.

Nha Trang Village

Nha Trang´s fisher woman

One of the mandatory stops along the way up to the north, is the beautiful beaches of Nha Trang, where you can find small huts rigth on the beach as cheap as 2 € per night. You can enjoy of beautiful crystal clear waters.

Leticia´s city

Leticia´s harbor

Leticia is placed at the very south of the country, it has border with Brasil and it has a little harbor wich is the perfect "base camp" for going to all the other places around the Amazons river, and also is one of the most cheaper ways for traveling around Brasil, Peru and Colombia.

Marasha's Natural Reserve

Marasha's Natural Reserve

One and a half hour far away from Leticia, you can cross the amazons river and get into Marasha´s Natural Reserve in Peru. This is a little paradise in the middle of the forest, with a 2 km lake and a beautifull backpackers house. We stayed there for three days, walking throught the forest and kayacking in the lake, some "siestas" in the hammocks and having really good food in the wood house, which is right at the border´s lake. You can also ear the sound of the Pirarucú (big fish) hiting the water with his fins.

Looking for lodging in Sapa

Eskopeta´s familly

Sapa is placed up on the north of Vietnam, and it is the starting point for climbing the Fansipan. There you can find few hotels that you can use as base camp for different activities. If you don´t mind where to stay, just choose the hotel with the best roof and enjoy the view.

Leisure and relax in La Paz

Balandra´s beach

La Paz is placed down on the southeast of Baja California. In this place if you ask for only one beer you will get five at least!, so it is better no to be alone. But don´t worry for the hangover, you can leave it back taking a bath in one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Balandra´s beach.

Lodging in Stromboli

Strombolian´lemon

If you are looking for accomodation in Stromboli, don´t hesitate, there is a beautiful and quiet place called "Pensione Brasile" (www.strombolialbergobrasile.it), it is located pretty close to the beach, it has good food (you have to try the famous stromboli´s cape) and good roof to have a nap with the volcano in the background.

Where to sleep and eat in Kalymnos

Masuri´s village and Telendos in the background

Masouri village is where most accommodations offers are, from three stars hotels to beachfront apartments in wich you can pay around 45 €/apartment/day for four people (in low season). If you want to eat, there are many places but we reccomend PANOS, wich is managed by one family that will make you feel like in home and the food is excellent and quite a lot.

Omshanty - Leticia´s base camp

Omshanty

11 Km far away from Leticia, we find Omshanty, a small paradise with five huts and really big garden. Kike Ares, Spanish biologist, is the perfect person who took care about us in this place and he also took care about the expeditions planings. This place is perfect as a "base camp" for the different activities and for enjoing with the birds and monkeys that are playing on the top of the trees.

Lodging during the trekking

Just resting

Hotels along the trekking are confortable and good. Every each 2 hours you get to some small village where you can find hostels no more expensive than two euros. When you get higher, food and lodging get more expensive. Most of the hotels have electricity and hot water (not allways). Food is good and cheap, you can find occidental food too.
