When to go to Brazil

Summer time (December to March) there is good weather all around the country, but from the center to the south is raining time. Wintertime, is the best season if you want to go to the mountain, is dry season. If you like north country beaches, any time is good for taking a bath in its tropical waters.
Surfing in the Honey Island (ilha do mel)

The island has four beaches for surfing all year round, with good waves for all levels, being "Parallel´s beach" the one with spectacular waves during the month of September. If you rent equipment at Galo store you will find everything you need.
Honey Island
Submitted by Viajes Desorgan... on Wed, 28/09/2011 - 19:02Just an hour by bus from Curitiba cruise boats that go to the Ilha do Mel, a paradise of the coast of Paraná. The boat ride takes about an hour and a half to the island, and you can take from Paranaguá or Pontal. On the island there are two inhabited areas, which are called Brasilia and Enchanted, and either find accommodations of everything from hotels on the beach to rooms with bunk beds and kitchens.
Climbing in the Chapada Diamantina

Lençois around you will find several areas equipped, and all over the National Park thousands of classical spectacular routes. It is better to bring all the material, but there are some shops where you can find magnesium, express, harnesses and more things... just in case you need it.
Fumaça´s waterfall

One of the most spectacular waterfall is the Fumaça, with its nearly 400 meters is the highest in Brazil. You can get to the top in a day from the Capao´s valley and peek power from there. But the worth of truth, is to sleep under it ... amazing!
Trekking around the Chapada Diamantina
Submitted by Viajes Desorgan... on Sat, 03/09/2011 - 12:27To make a trek for days through the Chapada Diamantina is necessary to hire guides, because the paths are unmarked, and it is often almost impossible to walk if you don´t know the area, even if you have good orientation!. In the Lençois city there are a few agencies that will arrange the trip depending on what you want to look. You can not miss the valley of Pati and imposing waterfall Cachoeirão.
Chapada Diamantina. How to get there

From Salvador, there are several buses every day for 25 euros each way. The last one leaves at 23 hrs and arrives at 5 am to Lençois, being able to sleep through the night, as they are very comfortable.
Surf in Salvador de Bahia
Submitted by Viajes Desorgan... on Sat, 03/09/2011 - 12:22Along the coast of Salvador we found a lot of beautiful beaches to enjoy the sea and a good caipirinha on the yellow sand.
If you want to surf, the only place for renting is Jaguaribe beach, on hour far from Pelourinho if you are heading to the airport. They don´t have wetsuits but they rent surf boards of all sizes for 20 euro / 5 hours.
Salvador de Bahia. Pelourinho Quarter

Along the streets you will not stop listening to music all day and evening concerts are always on the streets, bars and terraces. There are many places for sleeping, for all prices and needs, and from here we recommend Albergue das Laranjeiras, which is around the center, with a spectacular breakfast and their workers are all-day good feeling.
Rio de Janeiro

On the beaches that make up the city, you can do thousand activities, such as receiving tutoring and futvoley volleyball, rent you a board and surf at the end of Ipanema or just walk around and take coconut water on the terraces of the ride. And if you come in winter, the temperature is wonderful!.
Climbing in Rio de Janeiro

If you want you can climb up to landmarks such as the Corcovado and Sugarloaf. If you climb it, you can go down for free at the two cable cars!. Black Needles in Itatiaia

You can climb the normal way with a rope in one spot, or try to climb up all the equipment for some of its variants. And if you do not have much fear of heights, you can also climb without rope through Prateleiras, which are huge blocks of syenite, located opposite the needles, and whose views from the top will not leave you indifferent.
Climbing in the Itataia National Park
Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Sun, 31/07/2011 - 18:51At the top of the Itatiaia National Park are huge blocks of syenite, a rock that is relatively rare and perfect for hundreds of cracks classic climbing practice, because there are hardly equipped routes. It is imperative to bring all the necessary equipment, we can not find anything in 100 km radius!. If you pay 15 reais a night, you sleep in the shelter that is in perfect condition and in the midst of all the walls.
Fauna and Flora Itatiaia National Park
Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Sun, 31/07/2011 - 18:50The Itatiaia National Park has over 350 species of tropical birds of various colors and shapes that will not leave you indifferent, like this toucan called Aracari banana (Baillonius Baillon). Among the trees of the forest we can enjoy of three species of macaques, which as you neglect, come home and steal all the fruit. As for flora, here there are many endemic species of trees and flowers with spectacular sizes, as tree ferns and bamboos over 15 meters high ... another dimension!.
Itatiaia National Park

Placed between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, we got to Itataia National Park, which was the first National Park in Brazil, created 74 years ago. At the bottom we can walk through the Atlantic wet forest relict and swim in its huge waterfalls, always surrounded by 2.800 meters high mountains with dense vegetation and a spectacular wildlife, which has among its forests to the second largest feline in America: the cougar (Felix concolor).
