Going up the Stromboli

Vías Ferratas in Dolomites
Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Tue, 30/03/2010 - 10:29The region between Trentino and Alto Adigie is a Vias Ferratas paradise.
Most of them were built during the First World War and afterwards they were used for sports activities. We have the choice to see some of them during our backcountry skiing in the Vall de Venegia, surrounded by the Mt. Mulaz (2.920m), but we didn´t climb any of them. There are lot of easy climbing and Via Ferrata routes... maybe we must go in summer time!
When to travel to Dolomites
Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Fri, 12/03/2010 - 10:27The best time to do backcountry skiing in the Dolomites is from March untill the end of the season, since the risk of avalanches to climb the mythical peaks is usually quite high for the rest of the season. We went in February and we had three feet of snow, so we made the trips that were out of danger.
Ski material in Arco, Dolomites

Food in Dolomites

Stivo´s Mountain Cross country skiing
Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Tue, 09/03/2010 - 19:24Up to the Northeast of the "lago di Garda", is placed the Stivo´s Mountain (2.059 m), just above the Arco´s village, beautiful views over the lake and all Dolomites mountains. It is a easy passage around 4 hours long and there it is (usually) free of avalanches.
Cross country skiing in Brenta´s Dolomites
Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Thu, 04/03/2010 - 20:2640 Km far away from Arco we got to San Lorenzo in Banale and 4 Km up to the north we found the Alpenrose hut, where we left our car and took the skis. We followed the red and white signal crossing the forest and heading to the Mount Sorana summit wich is placed in the Brenta´s Dolomites. Got to the summit took us around three hours.

Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Thu, 04/03/2010 - 11:29There is more than 1.200 Km available for alpine skiing in Dolomites. You can choose from lot´s of valleys looking for the good weather, if don´t know where to go, just ask to the local people and you could practice everyday in the season.
Val Venegia´s Backcountry skiing

Mt. Bondone crosscountry skiing

Arco di Trento

Cabirol´s Via Ferrata (Iron road).
Submitted by Agustín Gómez on Sun, 20/09/2009 - 10:22Up on the Northwest of Sardinia, just 20 minutes from Alghero by car, is placed the Cabirol´s via ferrata (iron road). It was built by Corrado Conca in 2003m and it is a spectacular route 130 m above the ocean with awesome views.

Cheap apartments around 15 € per person/day, surrounded by more dan 800 equiped routes... you can get loss in the fores, go for a swim in one of the beaches or just get relaxed and have a good "pasta" dinner.

You must repect the flora and fauna and enjoy earing the owl sounds.
